The first round of planned DLC content for the asymmetric multiplayer game Predator: Hunting Grounds will allow you to play as the first film’s iconic hero, Alan “Dutch” Schaefer.
The new Predator: Hunting Grounds DLC comes in two parts, a free update and a paid DLC.
The free update will add various voice tapes that players can unlock as they level up. These voice tapes delve into Dutch’s life and we learn more about what happened to the character.
The paid DLC is the one that has many fans excited, and possibly annoyed. It will allow gamers to take on the role of Dutch. That’s right, players will be able to play as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character from the original film, complete with his iconic Hammerhead rifle and his giant knife. Both of these weapons will become free for all players later in June.
Although it is absolutely awesome to see Arnold reprising his role for Predator: Hunting Grounds, many players might feel that this is something that should’ve been included in the base game. After all, Dutch is the most iconic character from the franchise and placing him behind a paywall does seem a bit sneaky on the developers part.
The good news is that there are more surprises in store for players as the developer has revealed that even more fun DLC content will be coming to Predator: Hunting Grounds, including more themed character packs for the game.
Let’s hope we’ll get to see some of the iconic Predator characters, like Danny Glover’s Lieutenant Mike Harrigan or Carl Weathers’ Dillon. Sanaa Lathan’s Alexa Woods would also be a great addition.
